Web Version     Connecticut Department of Transportation Connecticut Department of Transportation's Bureau of Public Transportation to Survey Commuters about Commuting Habit Changes Due to COVID-19 Pandemic Posted on July 14 , 2020 The Connecticut Department of Transportation's Bureau of Public Transportation (CTDOT) is conducting a survey of Connecticut commuters about changes to their commutes, as well as their thoughts on commuting when returning to work in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. The brief online survey will allow CTDOT to collect basic data about current and projected commuting habits, and how commuters foresee their commutes when returning to work. The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and will also ask how workers commuted before the pandemic. Information from the survey will be shared with state and local transit operators and will directly assist in tailoring and modifying services to best meet the needs of Connecticut commuters. CTDOT will also be reaching out directly to employers that partner with CTrides to request employee participation in the survey.  CTrides and local transit systems will also promote the survey through social media and emails. Web Version     Connecticut Department of Transportation Added Service on CTrail Hartford Line and Danbury Line Service Restoration Posted on July 10 , 2020 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing, beginning Monday, July 13, additional train service on the CTrail Hartford Line  as well as the resumption of the Danbury Line train service. The Danbury Line service was temporarily replaced with scheduled bus service to accelerate a track-work program that would have otherwise required additional time and further disruption to riders. Waterbury Line train service remains suspended with ongoing track and signal program work that will enable future expanded rail service.    Hartford Line customers should visit hartfordline.com for the most up to date service information. Service alerts, customizable by station and/or train, are now available for the Hartford Line by text message or email. Customers should sign up for service alerts at hartfordline.com and click on "service alerts" to get all the latest information on Hartford Line trains.   Danbury Line customers should visit mta.info/mnr for the most up to date service information.   The Department continues to prioritize the safety of customers and front-line train crews during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Trains and stations are sanitized every day including door handles, armrests and other high touch areas. Customers also play a critical role in safety and can do their part by wearing a mask and practicing social distancing while on board trains and at stations. Customers are encouraged to pre-purchase their rail fares before boarding when possible. The project consists of milling and resurfacing 2.29 miles of Route 113 in Stratford.  This project is scheduled to occur Sunday, July 19, 2020 through Friday, August 14, 2020.  The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, July 19, 2020 through Wednesday, July 29, 2020.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, August 2, 2020 through Friday, August 14, 2020.      This project is included in the Department of Transportation's 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.   LANE CLOSURE INFO Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 113 from .03 mile north of drive to Sikorsky Airport to US 1 (Barnum Avenue).  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Friday). Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity. Web Version     Connecticut Department of Transportation Bridge Maintenance on I-91 in North Haven and Wallingford Posted on July 8 , 2020 The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will continue on I-91 northbound and southbound in North Haven and Wallingford through Thursday, July 17, 2020.   The project consists of asphaltic joint repairs to the I-91 northbound and South Bridge #'s 03115 over Amtrak, 03117A over Rt.5, 003116 over Amtrak, and 03121 over Pond Hill Rd. in North Haven and Wallingford.  This project is scheduled to occur the morning of Wednesday June 17, 2020 to the evening of Thursday, July 17, 2020.   The work is included in the Department of Transportation's 2020 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with bridge repairs and is being performed by Dynamic Surface Applications.   LANE CLOSURE INFO Motorists can expect lane closures on I-91 North and South between Exit 11 (Rt.22) and Exit 14 (Woodhouse Ave.) in North Haven and Wallingford.  Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.
