With the arrival of Labor Day holiday weekend, many Connecticut residents will close the summer by traveling throughout the state to barbeques, family gatherings and tourist destinations. In an effort to raise awareness and change driver behavior, the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office is launching the first phase of its anti-speeding campaign throughout rural Connecticut, where most speeding-related automobile deaths occur.

Pavement Preservation Program On Route 8 in Trumbull, Stratford and Shelton
The purpose of this program is to enhance pavement performance by using cost-effective treatments to extend the service life of the existing pavement. A section of Route 8 in Trumbull, Stratford and Shelton has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans to mill and overlay the bituminous pavement on Route 8 from approximately 0.3 miles before exit 8 in Trumbull, to approximately 0.3 miles after exit 13 in the Shelton.
