ConnDOT eAlert: Construction News from the Connecticut Department of Transportation
Pavement Preservation on Route 82 , Towns of Chester and Haddam
The purpose of this project is to enhance pavement performance by using a cost-effective treatment to extend the service life of the existing pavement. A section of Route 82, which runs through the Towns of Chester and Haddam, has been identified as a candidate for this program. The Department is developing plans for a 2.5" mill followed by 2" of hot mix asphalt over .5" thick rubberized chip seal on Route 82. The project begins in Chester and ends in Haddam for a total project length of approximately 2.75 miles.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will conduct a public information meeting concerning the rehabilitation of Bridge No. 03399D, which carries I-84 TR 824 over Parking Lot, Bridge No. 03400D, which carries I-84 TR 823 over Parking Lot, and Bridge No. 03402A, which carries SR 503 WB over Amtrak Railroad and Capitol Avenue, in Hartford. These bridges are part of the I-84, Sisson Avenue Interchange at Exit 46. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room of the Greater Hartford Transit District Offices, One Union Place, Hartford, Connecticut, 06103. In the event of inclement weather, the meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2013.

As a result of public input received during the fare increase process, some of the proposed fare increases were reduced and transfer policies have been improved.
