Railroad Crossing Repairs in Killingly - Detour Required

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that railroad crossing repairs will be performed on the Route 101 (Hartford Pike) railroad crossing west of Interstate 395 in the Dayville Section of Killingly, Friday, October 18, through Monday, October 21, 2019. The upgrade includes the replacement of the crossing riding surface.

Work hours will be 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. The crossing will be closed for the entire work period and a detour will be in place.

This work is being performed by Providence and Worcester Railroad Company in cooperation with the Department of Transportation.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Route 101 eastbound motorists will be detoured north onto Upper Maple Street, east onto Attawaugan Crossing Road, then south onto Interstate 395 back to Route 101.  Route 101 westbound motorists will be detoured using the reverse detour route described above.  Traffic control personnel, police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour.  The detour is scheduled to be in place from 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2019 through 5:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 unless the work is completed sooner.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule might become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity and through all work zones.
