The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime resurfacing project will be performed on a 2.15-mile section of Route 44 in Winchester,Thursday, August 29, through Friday, September 20, 2019. No work will be performed over the Labor Day weekend.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing Route 44 from Route 183 (East Junction) to Route 183 (West Junction.)

Motorists can expect delays and one lane alternating Traffic. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday through Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
