Nighttime Resurfacing on Route 70 in Cheshire

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 70 from the East Junction of Waterbury Road to Mountain Road, Sunday, May 17, through Friday, June 5, 2020.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.90-mile segment of Route 70 from the East Junction of Waterbury Road to Mountain Road. This project is scheduled to begin milling on Sunday, May 17, 2020 to Wednesday, May 20, 2020. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 to Friday, June 5, 2020.

This project is included in the Department of Transportation's 2020 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 70 from the East Junction of Waterbury Road to Mountain Road. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
