he Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 44 in Manchester and East Hartford beginning Wednesday, May 13, 2020.
The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.17 mile segment of US 44 from Mary Street (one-way southbound) to the access to westbound I-84 (302a) in Manchester and East Hartford. This project is scheduled to begin milling on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 to Monday, May 18, 2020. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Monday, May 18, 2020 to Friday, May 22, 2020.
This project is included in the Department of Transportation's 2019 Vendor Resurfacing Program.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on US 44 from Mary Street (One-Way Southbound) to the access to westbound I-84 (302a) in Manchester and East Hartford. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
