Bridge Maintenance under Interstate 95 in Greenwich Darien Norwalk and Westport

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that as part of its bridge maintenance and repair program, steel structures will be cleaned and painted with some incidental repairs under Interstate 95 northbound and southbound in Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk and Westport beginning Monday, July 20, 2020.

This work consists of the cleaning, painting, and incidental repairs of steel structures, on nine bridges No.(s) 00043, 00049, 00050, 00062, 00065, 00071, 01614, & 01349 under Interstate 95 northbound and southbound, SR 476, and Route 136 in Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk, and Westport. This work is scheduled to occur Monday, July 20, 2020 through Monday, November 2, 2020. 

This project is included in the Department of Transportation's Bridge Maintenance & Repair program and is being performed by Mohawk Northeast, Inc.

 

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect various lane closures on Route 1 (Boston Post Rd.), Richards Ave. (Town Road), Keeler Ave. (Town Rd.), Route 33 (Saugatuck Rd.), Compos Rd. (Town Rd.), Maple Ln. (Town Rd.), and SR 476 (Sherwood Island Connector) in Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk, and Westport. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (Monday through Friday).  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
