The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime bridge maintenance project will continue on Route 8 south in Bridgeport through Thursday, July 24, 2020.
The project consists of Armored Plate Joint Repair on Bridge #03547B over Catherine Street and Main Street. This project is scheduled to occur on the evening of Monday, July 13, 2020 thru the morning of Thursday, July 24, 2020.
The work is included in the Department of Transportation's 2020 bridge maintenance program to support state forces with the bridge armored plate joint repair being performed by Mohawk Northeast.
LANE CLOSURE INFO
Motorists can expect lane closures on Rt.8 South between Exit 4 (Lindley St.) and Exit 2 (Fairfield Ave Rt. 130) in Bridgeport. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 8:00pm to 6:00am. (Monday 7/13/20 evening to Thursday 7/24/20 morning).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
